Artist Statement : Chuck Prescott

My work explores the tension between chaos and calm, translating emotional landscapes into textured abstractions that invite introspection. Each piece begins as an act of instinct—a leap of faith—layered with color, earth, and memory. I’m drawn to the rawness of imperfection, the quiet force of nature, and the beauty found in fractures. These elements converge in my process, where intuition leads and texture tells the story.

As an artist, I am less interested in what is seen and more captivated by what is felt. Through abstract compositions, I aim to create visual spaces where stillness and unrest coexist—mirroring the complexity of the human experience. My hope is that each work resonates with something unspoken in the viewer, offering a moment of recognition or release.
